Introducing Robotics at AJES
At Amara Jyothi English School, we are excited to offer robotics classes that blend creativity with technology. Our young learners get the chance to work with real microcontrollers, explore coding languages, and understand how sensors make devices smart.
What Students Work With
In each session, students handle two popular microcontrollers:
- Raspberry Pi Pico – programmed using the Thonny IDE and MicroPython.
- ESP32 – programmed with RunLinc, using web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Learning Through Doing
Classes are designed to be hands‑on. Children write code, test it on the boards, and see immediate results. They learn how to:
- Read data from different kinds of sensors (such as temperature, light, and motion).
- Control LEDs, motors, and other output devices.
- Create simple web interfaces that can interact with the ESP32 in real time.
By combining MicroPython on the Pico with web‑based programming on the ESP32, students experience both low‑level hardware control and high‑level web development.
Why This Matters
Robotics education supports our school’s motto of Dedication, Determination, Discipline. It encourages:
- Dedication – consistent practice in writing and debugging code.
- Determination – solving challenges when a sensor does not respond as expected.
- Discipline – following systematic steps to design, build, and test a project.
These skills translate beyond the classroom, preparing students for future studies and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Parent Involvement
We invite parents to stay connected with their child’s progress. Simple project showcases are shared regularly, and we welcome questions about the tools and concepts being used. Your encouragement helps reinforce the confidence our students gain as they see their ideas come to life.
Looking Ahead
Our robotics program will continue to grow, introducing new sensors and more complex projects as students become comfortable with the basics. We are proud of the enthusiasm our learners show and look forward to many more innovative creations.
