Celebrating Raksha Bandhan
At Amara Jyothi English School we cherish cultural festivals that bring families and students together. This year, the annual Raksha Bandhan celebration was a warm reminder of the values of love, respect, and responsibility that we nurture every day.
Activities and Learning
Students participated in a range of activities designed to deepen their understanding of the festival:
- Storytelling session where teachers shared the legend of Rakhi and its moral lessons.
- Art and craft corner where children created colorful rakhis using safe, eco‑friendly materials.
- Writing exercise encouraging pupils to compose short notes expressing gratitude to their siblings.
- Group discussion on the importance of sibling bonds and how they translate into kindness in the classroom.
These activities not only celebrated tradition but also reinforced language skills, creativity, and empathy.
Community Spirit
Parents were invited to join the festivities, sharing sweets and stories from their own childhoods. The school’s staff arranged a small ceremony where older students tied rakhis on the wrists of younger ones, symbolising protection and care. The event concluded with a communal snack time, allowing families to mingle and strengthen the school community.
We are grateful to all the parents, teachers, and students who made this celebration memorable. Such events help us live our motto—Dedication, Determination, Discipline—by fostering respect for cultural heritage and encouraging supportive relationships among our students.
We look forward to many more celebrations that enrich the school experience and bring our community closer together.
